The giclee process:
The painting is professionally scanned from the original painting, and checked against the original for color, or any flaws.
A sample print is made and checked by the printer AND the artist.
The print process is done in many color ink, and sprayed on, to mimic the subtle blending as with painting, as opposed to direct printing.
After printing, the prints are again checked for accuracy.
The inks are fade-resistant for over 140+ years, and printed on archival watercolor paper.
This is deemed to be the absolute closest you can get to the original artwork, but it is without the high cost.
